Vice President, Enterprise Solutions

Derek Adair has been in the airline industry for almost 25 years and is currently the Vice President – Enterprise Solutions at Delta Air Lines. In this role, he is responsible for developing and supporting the forecasting, business intelligence tools and reporting for Network Planning, Inventory Management, Pricing and Global Alliances. In addition, his team manages the transformation to being a retailer, development of new ticketing infrastructure, NDC capabilities for shopping and ancillary products and facilitates the IT capital expenditures across the commercial organization to include Sales, Reservations, Distribution and Digital divisions.

Most recently, Derek held the position of Managing Director – Commercial Development and Innovation, where he oversaw the middle seat blocking strategy and refund strategy for DL during COVID. Prior to Commercial and RM, Derek was Director of Schedules Development and Analytics, where he oversaw the merger between Delta and Northwest in terms of schedule coordination and synchronization while implementing a single reservation platform between the carriers. Derek’s team is the business owner of most commercial airline data within Delta.

Prior to joining Delta, Derek was at Continental Airlines for 9 years, where he held positions as Director of Revenue Accounting, Director of Corporate Development/Mergers and Acquisitions and held positions of increasing responsibility in International Route Planning and Alliance Development.

Derek graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a bachelor’s in Political Science – International Relations and holds an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management. In addition to his current Delta responsibilities, Derek has served ARC’s Board of Directors since 2016 and is Delta’s representative on ATPCO’s Executive Advisory Committee.

Derek lives in Atlanta with his wife and three children.
