Matt Schrag has been with Delta Air Lines since 2008, following a year with United Airlines and a decade with Northwest Airlines. He is currently responsible for delivering core airline capabilities as well as the data and analytics infrastructure for Delta. Matt’s application technology portfolio includes revenue management, pricing and offer management, shopping, revenue accounting, SkyMiles, as well as host reservations functions such as order management, passenger re-accommodation, refunds and changes. His data and analytics scope spans enterprise data management, data science and operations research teams.
Matt began his airline career in what would now be considered data science, working on behavioral models to power revenue management, pricing, inventory and network planning decisions. He also worked on integrating these systems during the merger between Delta and Northwest Airlines.
He subsequently worked on helping Delta become a modern retailer with modern flight search capabilities in partnership with Google, creating segmentation and product offerings (Basic Economy, Comfort+ and Delta Premium Select) and a world-class loyalty ecosystem (SkyMiles).
In recent years, Matt has been the point person within the technology organization for ushering in a new wave of digital transformation with investments in data, engineering, product and experience.
Matt is a graduate of St. Olaf College with a B.A. in mathematics and physics and holds a PhD from the University of Chicago in mathematics.
