ARC MarketPlace's 2016 Thanksgiving Bookings Surpass 2015 Holiday Season Totals

Top destination tours include New Zealand and Italy

ARLINGTON, Va. – Nov. 16, 2016 – Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC), the premier driver of air travel intelligence and commerce in the travel industry, reported today that ARC MarketPlace—a website that provides travel agents with commissionable goods like worldwide activities, tours, airport transfers, car rentals and passport/visa services—has seen a significant rise in total tour bookings* for Thanksgiving, with totals rising 68% through October compared to 2015. In fact, the 2016 Thanksgiving bookings topped the totals for the entire 2015 holiday season including Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Two-hundred fifty different tours and activities have been booked across 90 destinations. Both numbers are up over 2015, which saw 229 unique tours booked in only 80 countries.

ARC MarketPlace also saw an increase in booked tours within international destinations for Thanksgiving, from 71% in 2015 to 76% this year. Bookings for multi-day tours were also on the rise in 2016 compared to years past when shorter activities were preferred. The most popular worldwide destinations for Thanksgiving tours booked at ARC MarketPlace are Rome (Open Market and Pasta Making Cooking Class,) Christchurch (Five-Day South Island Tour,) Las Vegas (Grand Canyon South Rim Bus Tour) and Los Angeles (The VIP Experience at Universal Studios Hollywood).
