Bob Crandall, Former AA Chairman and CEO, is Featured Guest at ARC’s TravelConnect

PlaneBusiness Banter’s Holly Hegeman to Interview Crandall at Conference

ARLINGTON, Va. – October 2, 2018 –Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) is pleased to announce that Bob Crandall, former American Airlines chairman and CEO, will be a featured guest at ARC’s TravelConnect Conference next week in National Harbor, Md. Crandall will join Holly Hegeman of PlaneBusiness Banter for an interview session titled, “Anything Goes.” The session will be held Thursday, October 11, from 1-2 p.m. ET.

Hegeman and Crandall will share personal stories from their many years in the industry. In the discussion, Crandall will also provide his unvarnished take on a wide range of topics, including the current state of the industry as well as the future of travel.

Crandall served as American’s chairman and CEO from 1985 until his retirement in 1998. He is credited with creating the first frequent flyer program as well as pioneering modern reservation systems by helping to oversee the introduction of Sabre. He also was the first to use passenger data to create a yield management system which is now standard practice at airlines.

In its fifth year, TravelConnect draws travel industry leaders from around the globe to discuss the major trends transforming air travel. Attendees have a chance to network with individuals from across the travel landscape, including airlines, travel agencies, technology and payment companies as well as ARC.
