ARC Co-Sponsored Research Finds Nearly Half of TMCs Have Employed NDC

NDC Sentiment and Adoption Progress Surveyed for Report

ARLINGTON, Va. – June 27, 2019 – “TMC NDC Adoption Barometer,” a new research report co-sponsored by Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and distributed by industry publication The Beat, is now available for download.

The report’s findings derived from research conducted by The Beat, which surveyed a range of 30 travel management companies (TMCs). Each respondent shed light on their overall perception of New Distribution Capability (NDC) and what progress they have made toward adopting and integrating the new air distribution standard. Besides learning that nearly 50% of TMCs have already processed an NDC booking, other findings included:

  • How many TMCs plan to access NDC airline content
  • What TMCs consider to be the most significant pros and cons of NDC
  • Whether TMCs view NDC as a generally positive or negative development
  • How TMCs have invested in booking, data reporting and aggregation systems

The free report is available from The Beat.

The Beat will hold a free webinar detailing the report’s results on July 10, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. EDT. Speakers include John Bukowski, director of global content and distribution strategy at American Express Global Business Travel, Jill Palmer, CEO at Click Travel, Marcus Eklund, global managing director at FCM Travel Solutions and Jay Boehmer, editor-in-chief of The Beat. Attendees will have a chance to submit questions and comments during the webinar. For more information and to register, visit The Beat’s webinar registration page.

ARC executives are also available to discuss the current NDC landscape, its vision for the future of air travel retailing, and what ARC is doing to enable NDC via its Distribution: Evolved strategy. To learn more about how ARC supports the NDC standard, see “Implement NDC with ARC.”
