Elimination of Paper ATB Support Documents

When airline tickets became 100% electronic with the elimination of paper airline tickets on June 1, 2018, the printing of support documents on ATB stock was also eliminated. This was previously conveyed in the PED 05/27/2018 Travel Agent Communication (TAC).

These discontinued support documents include charge forms, auditor coupons, agent coupons and passenger receipts. These accounting documents are considered to be obsolete and have not been required for settlement in many years. Additionally, the ability to print charge forms, auditor’s coupons and agent coupons to plain paper will be eliminated by June 1, 2019.

Facsimile versions of auditor’s and agent coupons for all ARC documents will continue to be available electronically in ARC’s Document Retrieval System (DRS) for 39 months after ticket issuance.

The exception to printing paper ATB coupons is the automated Miscellaneous Charges Order (Auto MCO). The Auto MCO is the last remaining ARC paper document, and its exchange value coupon and passenger receipt must continue to be printed on paper ATB stock.

Tip of the Week: Reconciling the IAR Sales Report

ARC strongly recommends that the IAR sales report be reconciled on a daily basis. The sales report should have a final reconciliation performed prior to sales report authorization and submission. The following steps will facilitate this process:

  • Verify that all documents and voids are correctly listed in the IAR sales report
  • Correct any errors
  • Verify that all transactions were legitimately issued by your agency (to guard against unauthorized ticketing)
  • Verify all commission amounts
  • Verify that all refund and exchange transactions are accurate and that their values include any penalty information (if applicable)
  • Verify cash and credit totals
  • Verify the net remit amount
