Air Sales and the Travel Agency Distribution Channel
In collaboration with Phocuswright, this white paper explores the state of air travel distribution via the travel agency channel and identifies opportunities for airlines to further enhance their relationships with this community.
Tip of the Week: Using the IAR Exchange Adjustment Field
The Adjustment field on the IAR Exchange Summary screen is an IAR-only shortcut that can be used to either increase or decrease the value of exchange in your sales report. For example, when an old document is exchanged for a new document of lesser value, and the airline does not allow the difference to either be refunded back to the customer or transferred to a Miscellaneous Charge Order (MCO), you may enter that lost residual amount in the Adjustment field to create an even exchange.
Any amount entered in the Adjustment field has the same effect as changing the penalty amount in the Admin/Penalty field on the Exchange Support screen. Using the Adjustment field will save you that step. Please note that when the exchange is reported to the airline, the amounts in the Adjustment and Admin/Penalty fields are combined as a single penalty amount.
