Payment fraud is a growing problem, costing travel agencies millions of dollars per year.
To help you combat fraud, ARC has teamed up with a group of domestic and international experts to bring you ARC Fraud Awareness Month. Throughout September, ARC will feature a series of webinars featuring guest presenters from law enforcement, the private sector, as well as agency and airline peers. These experts will provide insights into current fraud trends and the true cost of fraud on your business. Webinars will introduce practical tips and tools you can use to protect your agency.

Tip of the Week: How to Detect if You Have Received a Digitally Altered Image
Many agents request that new clients email images of the cardholder driver’s license, passport and images of the front and back of the credit/debit card as proof that the client information is real. Unfortunately, fraudsters are often adept at digitally altering such documents to make themselves appear legitimate. Though agents receive these emailed document images, it does not provide relief from potential chargebacks because the document images may be altered.
Click here to view suggestions on how to detect digitally altered images, including examples.
If you suspect a customer has emailed altered documents, contact ARC’s Fraud Prevention Team at 855-358-0393 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
