Lao Airlines No Longer Accepts Visa or Mastercard

Effective PED 07/24/22, Lao Airlines (QV/627) no longer accepts Visa or Mastercard as forms of payment through ARC. Agents issuing refunds for Lao Airlines are encouraged to have customers contact their card issuer for resolution. ARC will not output refunds to the processor.

Help Prevent Unauthorized Ticketing Fraud

ARC continues to see instances of unauthorized ticketing fraud where a fraudster will send phishing emails to entice the recipient to select a “Sign-in” box and enter their credentials. The sign-in link in these emails is controlled by the fraudster, allowing them to obtain the user’s GDS login credentials.

Please share this information with your organization to help prevent this type of fraud.

Reminder: No system provider will ever ask a customer to log into the GDS via email.

Please take note of the suspicious items in the example email below:

  • There are several spelling errors throughout: “infornation”, “trainning” and “Sabreis.

2022 Quarterly Transaction Fees – Second Quarter

See the chart below outlining the tiered fee structure for agent/CTD transaction fees assessed quarterly.

Agencies with less than 1,000 transactions per quarter will not be assessed transaction fees. A separate debit representing this fee will be drawn against the applicable ARC-designated bank accounts on or after July 21, 2022.

ARC will notify travel agencies in an email to the primary administrator or operational contact on the account before each quarterly draft. For consolidated drafting agencies, only one draft will be assessed for all ARC-accredited locations.
