Over its 40-year history, ARC’s employees and leadership have worked to cultivate a culture where employees can thrive while learning about the air travel industry. As of 2025, the average tenure for an ARC employee is nearly 10 years. From digitalization to external forces having profound impacts on the industry, some of our longest tenured employees speak below about their individual journeys and experiences at ARC.

Aaron Burgess –Settlement Modernization Solutions Engineer

I began working on ARC’s settlement system as a programmer at National Processing Company in 1991. I officially joined ARC in October 1994, along with many others on the IT team. The transition was a very positive experience and marked the beginning of a rewarding career that continues today.

My work at ARC has always been both challenging and enjoyable, which is one of the reasons I have remained for over 30 years. Among the many projects I have worked on, the heavy lifts supporting production stand out the most, along with larger efforts such as Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs) and the Multiple Forms of Payment (MFOP). Each provided opportunities to grow, solve complex problems and contribute to the success of our systems.

Over the years, ARC has changed significantly, advancing from manual processes to automated ticketing, implementing Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR), and more recently, engaging with modern cloud technologies. These shifts highlight the organization’s ability to adapt and lead in an evolving industry.

If I had to describe ARC’s culture in one word, it would be people. It is the dedication and collaboration of employees that continue to drive ARC forward. Personally, my proudest accomplishments are the moments when I have been able to help others succeed.

Jennifer Ayenson –  Manager, Accounting

I joined ARC in September 1994 as a human resources administrative assistant after seeking a new career opportunity. I interviewed and was offered the role through an agency referral, beginning what has now become more than 30 years at ARC.

I have seen the company transform in many ways. When I started, employees filled out timecards on three-part carbon forms, and I used a typewriter to complete Employee Action Forms. Today, processes are streamlined and digital, reflecting how ARC has continuously transitioned to support both employees and customers.

One of my proudest moments was receiving a SPARC award, the highest employee award ARC gives, in 2019. Payroll can often be a role where feedback is only heard when something goes wrong, so being recognized for work done well was especially meaningful. I’m also proud of my longevity at ARC.

Teresa Peyton –Escalation Specialist

I joined ARC in August 1992 as a temporary employee in Agency Services, which later became the Customer Care Center. At the time, I was expecting my first child and was invited to join ARC after time at Pan American World Airways. By May 1993, I became a permanent employee in ARC’s Document Services department, which was eventually phased out with the transition to 100% electronic ticketing. I chose to stay because ARC offered a family-oriented culture, supportive colleagues, strong benefits and the unique opportunity to remain connected to multiple airlines through flight privileges.

One of my most memorable experiences was participating in ARC’s first Travel Connect event. It was inspiring to meet airlines and travel agents that we supported at the Customer Care Center for years. The agenda, the speakers and the energy created a great environment of collaboration.

The most significant changes I have experienced include the shift from manual to electronic settlement through Interactive Agent Reporting, the move from paper to electronic tickets and the industry shifts following 9/11 and COVID-19.

If I had to describe ARC’s culture in one word, it would be dynamic. Constant change and progress have defined ARC’s success and my own growth over the last three decades.
