Dr. Eric Barger, ARC’s Vice President of Human Resources & Chief Human Resources and Administrative Officer, has been appointed to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA). The appointment is part of GBTA’s first-ever globally curated committee to drive a DEI agenda for its global members and constituents.

Dr. Barger joins representatives from Amazon, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Delta Air Lines, Sabre, United Airlines, and other leading companies in hospitality, finance and technology in the committee’s pursuit of increasing global awareness within the business travel industry of the many DEI-related issues facing travelers and those working in the travel ecosystem.

According to the press release from GBTA, the committee “will provide the resources, education, and support to enable the travel industry to embrace and drive diversity, equity, and inclusion within organizations and our industry at-large.

The formation of the group comes as GBTA takes a more proactive approach to making travel productive, safe and comfortable while ensuring that inclusion and diversity remain at the forefront,” according to GBTA President, Bhart Sarin.

Dr. Barger recently oversaw ARC’s top score in the Human Rights Campaign’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and has been instrumental in developing and maintaining values that create a diverse, inclusive environment for ARC employees.

ARC looks forward to the impact Dr. Barger and the rest of the committee have as the global business travel industry continues recovery and becomes more connected in the coming years.
