Important Information on the closing of ARC MarketPlace

After over 10 years of providing travel agents with commissionable products and services, ARC MarketPlace will be closing on December 29, 2017. The closing of the web portal is a result of Viator's decision to withdraw from its partnership with ARC. All bookings made through December 29, 2017 will remain valid regardless of travel date. ARC will continue to pay monthly commissions to agents for all ARC MarketPlace bookings in the month following travel (both prior to and after December 29, 2017). Current commission processes and methods of payment will not change.

General

Why did ARC decide to close ARC MarketPlace?

For more than a decade, ARC MarketPlace has provided commissionable products to travel agencies, offering them a way to add value to their clients and revenue to their bottom line. After over 10 years of working together, Viator has withdrawn from the partnership with ARC. As a result of Viator’s decision, ARC will be closing ARC MarketPlace.

Why did ARC not advise us sooner about the closing of ARC MarketPlace?

ARC made the decision very recently to close ARC MarketPlace due to Viator’s notification to ARC that they will no longer partner with us to sell their content on ARC MarketPlace.

When is the official end date?

ARC MarketPlace will officially close at 11:59 p.m. EST on December 29, 2017. After this date, the ARC MarketPlace website will no longer be available.

Bookings and Commissions

When is the cut-off date for bookings on ARC MarketPlace?

ARC will continue to take bookings on ARC MarketPlace through the final day of service, December 29, 2017.

Will I continue to receive commissions for bookings made prior to December 29, 2017?

ARC will continue to pay monthly commissions to agents for all ARC MarketPlace bookings in the month following travel, regardless of when that travel occurs (both prior to and after December 29, 2017). Current commission processes and methods of payment will not change.

Will qualifying ARC agencies continue to receive Quarterly Bonus Commission after December 29, 2017?

The Quarterly Bonus Commission program is based on quarterly sales. This program will be discontinued after December 29, 2017 as no new sales will be booked after that date. The last Quarterly Bonus Commission payments will be paid out to qualifying ARC agencies in January 2018 based on their Q4 2017 sales (October 1, 2017-December 29, 2017).

Affiliate Program

What if I have tours and activities affiliate links on my website?

The tours and activities affiliate links and/or banners will not be supported after December 29, 2017. All agents who have these links and/or banners on their website, should remove them prior to December 29, 2017 to prevent confusion for your clients.

Will commissions be paid for bookings made through the affiliate links on my website?

Commissions will be paid for all bookings made through December 29, 2017, via affiliate links and/or banners on your website in accordance with the existing commission payment process.

Can agents still register for the tours and activities affiliate program?

No, the option to register for the affiliate program has been removed from the ARC MarketPlace website.

Support

Will all bookings on ARC MarketPlace continue to be valid after December 29, 2017 if travel has not yet occurred?

Yes, all bookings made on ARC MarketPlace prior to December 29, 2017 are valid bookings and will be honored by Viator and their suppliers.

How will ARC continue to support agents with bookings that travel after December 29, 2017?

ARC will continue to support agents with any commission inquiries they have. Any other support inquiries should be directed to Viator at travelagents@viator.com.
