ARC recently identified an increase of card-not-present (CNP) fraud. The fraudster claims to be from, or have affiliation with, the local chamber of commerce. Claims of being with a local university and in need of travel due to a family emergency have also been identified.
ARC would like to inform the travel agency community of these ongoing schemes and recommends that agents be especially on guard for all forms of fraud during the holiday period. For tips and guidance on how to protect your agency against these types of schemes, please visit ARC’s Fraud Prevention Best Practices.
If you suspect fraud and want assistance to assess the risk, contact ARC's risk management team at 855-358-0393, 703-816-8137 or stopfraud@arccorp.com.
